A brilliant physicist races to save his wife from their greatest adversary, himself - but discovers the only way to beat time is to go through it.

The world of Quantum Physics professor, Howard Wells, is flipped upside down when his doppelgänger, Gordon, is found shot and unconscious in his driveway. After a DNA test shows they are twins, Howard struggles to balance his already work-obsessed life with this sudden new twist, as well as the surprising news that his wife, Rachel, is pregnant.

Rachel wants Howard to recommit to their marriage, especially because of their now growing family. Meanwhile Howard receives a dream job offer from a major Particle Collider Laboratory to advance his work on Dark Matter. However, he discovers his work and personal life are being sabotaged by Gordon.

Howard eventually learns the shocking truth that Gordon is in fact his future self on a mission to save Rachel from dying in a terrible accident. Despite his deep suspicions, Howard must work with Gordon to change their history before time runs out.

Lead Roles Suggestions

Howard Wells

A tireless and driven physicist who wants to change the world. Of course he loves his wife but he’s ignored her needs too long in order to focus upon his ground-breaking work. Throughout this journey he must discover what’s truly important in life and let go of his ambition and single-mindedness.

Rachel Wells

Deep and sensitive, yet willing to go where her conviction takes her. Rachel is a talented singer/songwriter who largely gave up her ambitions to support Howard’s. She is growing tired of coming second and wants to advance her own career, regardless of the impact on her marriage. Her conflict with Howard is intensified by her unilateral desire to start a family.

Gordon Wells

Although identical in appearance to Howard, he’s hiding a painful secret and a deep sadness, born from understanding the consequences of his actions. His goal has changed, from time-bending science to saving lives, making him distinctly different from Howard. He may be ruthlessly driven but he’s more caring and understanding of his new mission.

Supporting Roles Suggestions

Clark Deacon

Stephanie Griffin

Detective Henley

A life of broken dreams has left him bitter and jealous. He is keenly aware that he’s not as brilliant a researcher as Howard and that he owes his career to him. This leaves him with great resentment against the very person whom he’s dependent upon. He is conflicted, unhappy and becomes the active rival against Howard and his goals.

The no non-sense head of the Particle Collider lab at Woodhaven. Distinguished, capable and wiling to do what ever it takes to make quantum physics a more commercially marketable field. She has a keen eye for talent, but can be ruthless when focused on the bottom line.

An out of shape but dogged detective, with a wry sense of humor. He’s not happy with half-answers and he's known as a guy who hates unfinished business with a passion. Intelligent, but relies mainly on his instincts and his years of experience as a Los Angeles detective. Part Harry Bosch, part Columbo, but all his own man.

Virtual Production

is a revolutionary new filmmaking technique that uses real-time game engine software to create virtual environments that are displayed on giant LED screens behind the actors. It was most notably used first on The Mandalorian.

Usually, creating large scale, realistic environments for sci-fi movies can be incredibly costly. However, WHEN will be filmed utilizing Virtual Production, allowing us to shoot complex scenes in impressive environments that would have been impossible or too expensive to build in real life. This technique has the added benefit of shorter shooting schedules, smaller crews, and lower budgets.

•Hyper-realistic, large scale virtual environments are created in Unreal Engine gaming software.

•Multiple LED panels are configured to display seamless environments behind the actors.

•Camera positioning is tracked in real-time to automatically update the virtual view displayed on the LED screens in real-time.

•The virtual sets can be filled wit unlimited digital extras at almost no cost (plus you don’t have to feed them).

•The digital environments on the screens act as the primary source of set lighting.

•The final shot is created live on set, eliminating the need for Greenscreen filming and extensive post-production effects.

•Actors and crew members spend less time traveling, setting up and striking sets each day, and often eliminating most transportation and location costs.

•Scenes can be shot in-order, out-of-order, or even simultaneously, which helps reduce the number of shooting days.
